Safety First: Our Team’s Certifications and Training

Safety is paramount when it comes to choosing a Division 10 specialty contractor.

One of the most important weeks of the year is around the corner in the construction industry: Construction Safety Week. Held the first week of May every year, Safety Week is dedicated to inspiring those within our industry to be leaders in safety.

At Holman, Inc., safety is one of our core values and at the forefront of everything we do. Well before we step onto a job site, we have placed safety first. We are a drug-free workplace, and all of our employees have had a Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) background check. Every Holman, Inc. employee is cleared to work on schools and state projects. Because of our commitment to safety, our Division 10 installers also regularly attend first aid and safety classes and have a variety of training and certifications.

National Safety Council (NSC)
The National Safety Council is America’s leading nonprofit safety advocate whose primary focus is on eliminating the causes of accidents. The NSC offers a variety of trainings designed to help those in the construction industry reduce injuries, build a culture of safety, and remain compliant. Their courses encompass everything from workplace safety to defensive driving to first aid. Our team regularly participates in training from the National Safety Council.

Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10/30
OSHA was created by the federal government to “ensure safe and healthful working conditions for workers by setting and enforcing standards and by providing training, outreach, education, and assistance.” The OSHA Outreach Training Program provides workers with training about job-related safety and health hazards through their 10-hour and 30-hour courses. OSHA 10 training emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention and OSHA 30 expands upon this with more in-depth and advanced training. Our lead installers participate in the OSHA 10 training, and many also pursue OSHA 30.

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)
ADA requirements are essential to creating an accessible and safe space for everyone. The ADA Standards for Accessible Design were developed to ensure environments were accessible to all individuals despite their ability and outline the minimum accessibility requirements for commercial buildings. Our team is well-versed in ADA requirements to ensure your Division 10 specialties needs are ADA-compliant.
