Our Fire Cabinets

Fire cabinets provide secure, visible, and accessible storage for fire extinguishers, making life-saving equipment within reach when needed. We offer a range of fire cabinets, including:
Surface-Mounted Fire Cabinets:
Rather than having to cut into a wall to make a space to install a fire cabinet, surface-mounted fire cabinets can be affixed directly to a wall for quick and easy installation. These fire cabinets are perfect for storing fire extinguishers as they have clear windows that make it easy to see the fire equipment and easy-pull handles that make it simple to access your equipment.
Semi-Recessed Fire Cabinets:
Semi-recessed fire cabinets don’t go all the way into a wall, but are partially recessed within a wall, helping to provide great visibility and a flush-mounted look. While these fire cabinets do protrude out of walls, they remain safely under the four-inch protrusion limit required by the ADA. This is a great option for installation in walls with shallow depths and offers the capacity to hold fire extinguishers of various sizes.
Recessed-Mounted Fire Cabinets:
If you want to save space and don’t want to worry about a fire cabinet protruding out of your wall dangerously, your best option would be to install a recessed-mounted fire cabinet. These metal housings are fully installed within a wall to allow for easy access. By saving your facility space, recessed-mounted fire cabinets help promote a seamless flow with your space.
Some models are in stock and available for immediate installation.

Our Fire Extinguishers

The right type of fire extinguisher can make all the difference by containing and extinguishing a fire before it spreads. We supply and install multipurpose fire extinguishers designed for diverse fire hazards, including:
Dry Chemical:
Dry chemical fire extinguishers use a specialized powder to smother fires and cut off their oxygen, neutralizing chemical agents. These fire extinguishers are designed for Class A, B, and C fires often in hallways, mechanical rooms, commercial kitchens, offices, and other commercial spaces.
Halotron:
Halotron refers to the name of the non-corrosive agent that is discharged from these fire extinguishers as a rapidly evaporating liquid that puts a stop to the chemical reaction of a fire without leaving behind any residue such as powder or foam. Halotron fire extinguishers are used to extinguish Class A, B, and C fires generally in data centers, labs, manufacturing plants, and other businesses with sensitive equipment and electronics.
Pressurized Water:
These kinds of fire extinguishers are commonly referred to as water can fire extinguishers because they use compressed air to shoot tap water onto a fire to put it out. Pressurized water fire extinguishers are ideal for Class A fires involving wood, paper, cloth, and other ordinary combustibles within spaces, like offices, assembly halls, and older buildings.
Wet Chemical:
Prevent uncontrollable fires in your kitchen by using wet chemical fire extinguishers that expel a foam or soap layer of a chemical solution to cut off oxygen from hot cooking oil and cool the fire with water, leaving a non-combustible soap layer behind. These extinguishers are primarily used for Class K fires in commercial kitchens and areas in which food is deep fried.

We went into Holman looking for hardware we weren’t able to find anywhere else. It only did Krystal, the amazing administrative assistant, confirm they had the product we were looking for, but showed us a lot of the different products and hardware they offer at their store. She walked us through the proper sizing for the product we came for and insured that our time there was easy and well spent. Thank you Holman Inc. and thank you Krystal!

Fire Equipment in Jacksonville, FL: Frequently Asked Questions

Are all businesses required to have fire extinguishers?

Not all businesses are required to provide fire extinguishers, however OSHA rules do state that employers must either have portable fire extinguishers or meet certain requirements to be exempt from having fire extinguishers, such as a written emergency action plan that makes evacuation mandatory in the event of a fire alarm or a written fire prevention plan.

What does OSHA require for fire extinguishers?

OSHA mandates that if employers are going to provide fire extinguishers, those fire extinguishers need to be properly selected, distributed, mounted, inspected, and maintained. Employees would also need to have regular training on how to properly use fire extinguishers.

Do fire extinguishers have to be in a cabinet, or can they be mounted on a bracket?

Neither OSHA nor the National Fire Protection Association mandate wall cabinets for portable fire extinguishers. If you choose not to use a cabinet, fire cabinets can still be mounted directly to a wall with use of approved brackets or wall hangers.

How often must a fire extinguisher be inspected?

The NFPA outlines that fire extinguishers should be visually inspected once every 30 days. Annual maintenance must also be completed every 12 months.
